Quality Preschool Initiative

CER Quality_Preschool_InitiativeThe Quality Preschool Initiative is a research-based preschool improvement project. PSI was developed by CER staff after a decade of research and field testing. PSI is a two-year program that addresses the environmental, instructional, curricular, assessment, and administrative components of preschool programs. PSI’s goal is to implement proven strategies that will make measurable improvements in teacher practice, classroom environment, and children's cognitive and literacy skills. PSI strategies have been implemented in over 70 classrooms consistently showing the same level of success. PSI has demonstrated the highest level of children’s outcomes ever demonstrated by any intervention program. CER limits PSI implementation to ten preschool sites each year. For more information please contact Matthew Russell Ed.D in the CER Redding, California office.
